Stingray |
Range: 0-15m
Flat Rock
is easy to find with its two prominent cones. Best dived at slack
water and easiest descent is via the anchor rope. Snapper feed in
the sand gullies but are generally flighty, although John dory will
move close. Large crayfish in the rocks under the kelp but beware of
tangled fishing lines and hooks. Stingrays and eagle rays are
common, especially in summer when you can also be buzzed by kingfish
and kahawai. Ensure your boatman is ready to do a pick up if you
drift away in the current.
