DANGER (MAHINAPOU) ROCK

Jewell Anemones
Off Bland Bay, NORTHLAND
Depth: 0-30m
The rock is usually surrounded by fish schools with kingfish and occasional bronze whaler sharks working amongst them. Looks like good country for crayfish but they’re rare. The sides of the rock are covered in common and jewel anemones and there are loads of nudibranchs. Red and painted moki and all the usual reef fish abound.
